This whitetail buck was harvested with a rifle in west Texas. Tanned the old way with brain matter and wood smoke. Smoked with Cottonwood. This hide is considered ‘B-grade’ by our standards because of the slightly wonky shape, a few holes, and a very slightly papery section between the front shoulders along the spine where there is some scar tissue from repeatedly crossing barbed wire fencing.
The hide is medium thickness - a few water drum rounds could be cut from the rump area. It is also suitable for crafting or beading.
