This 2-3 year old cow elk was harvested in southern New Mexico. Tanned the old school way with brain matter and wood smoke. Smoked with cottonwood root and cedar. Dry scraped on a frame.
This is a nice, square hide with minimal holes. On the thinner side for elk but still has a nice thickness to it. Very soft — can pass a size ten beading needle right through.
