Dinè style white hide with full face, ears, tail, and legs including full ankle bone, hooves, and dew claw. This was a yearling doe that was stuck on a neighbor’s fence. I was able to skin her out very carefully to include the entire face/ears and fully intact legs/hooves/dew claw. This is a difficult task and I’ve only successfully tanned a hide in this style once before. The hide was tanned with brains and left un-smoked for the white coloration. As with all white, un-smoked brain tanned hides it cannot get wet or it will dry back into rawhide.
